11.1 GENERAL :
Public Relations organisation of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works made all efforts to project the image of Indian Railways in general and CLW in particular with full utilization of the National Press, Doordarshan, All India Radio and other available media during the period from April, 08 to March, 09.
11.2 CEREMONIES :
· The 117th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R.Ambedkar was celebrated at Chittaranjan on 14.4.2008.
· The 53rd Railway week was celebrated on 11.4.2008.
· Anti terrorism day was observed on 21.5.2008.
· The 62nd Independence Day was celebrated at Chittaranjan on 15th August, 2008.
· Sadhbhawana Diwas observed on 20.8.2008 by CLW Administration.
· International Day of Non-violence was celebrated on 2nd October, 2008.
· The 139th Birth Anniversary of Deshabandhu Chittaranjan Das was celebrated on 5th November, 2008.
· Vigilance Awareness week, 2008 was celebrated in November, 2008
· The Qaumi Ekta Diwas was observed on 19th November, 2008.
· Bharat Ratna, Dr. B.R.Ambedkar’s Mahaparinirwan Diwas was observed on 6th December, 2008.
· Observance of Civil Defence Day on 6th December, 2008.
· The 60th Republic Day was observed on 26th January, 2008 at Oval Ground, Chittaranjan
11.3 EVENTS :
· The first locomotive of the year was inaugurated by GM on 03.04.08
· 53rd Railway week was organized on 09.04.08.
· The IRQS Audit team visited CLW during 18th April, 08
· The 36th District Rally of Bharat Scouts & Guides of Chittaranjan was held from 4th to 5th May, 2008.
· CLW’s website was launched on 25.05.08.
· Rajbhasha Karyanwayan Samiti Meeting was held on 5th of June, 2008.
· CLW adopts ORACLE based financial application on 11.07.08.
· 94th Rajbhasha Karyanwayan Samiti Meeting was held on 14th August, 2008.
· CLWWWO organized an On-the-Spot Drawing and Painting Competition on 15th September, 2008.
· Inter Railway Bridge competition was organized by CLWSA during 16 to 20.10.08.
· Inter Railway Dance Competition was organized by CLWCA during 27 to 26.09.08.
· Sur-O-Taal programme was organized by CLWWWO on 8th November,08.

· An Environment Rally was organized in CLW on 14.02.09.
· 51st Annual Horticulture show was organized on 15.02.09.
· Staff Council Meeting with Railway Board officials held on 4th March’09.
· The first shell of the year 2009-10 was produced and subsequently inaugurated on 06.0-3.09 by GM/CLW.
· 96th Rajbhasha Karyanwayan Samiti Meeting was held on 18.03.09.
· A Kite Flying competition was organized commemorating the diamond jubilee anniversary of CLW on 30.03.09.

53 Press Releases were issued by the PR Department along with press briefings at regular intervals, to disseminate information of the activities/events of CLW during April’08 to March’09.
